Vintage Art Deco Czech Bohemian red turned wood button design belt, bag or shoe buckle. With silver tone belt hooks and clasp. Each section is stamped "Made in Czecho Slovakia. Registered" on the reverse. The wooden sections were probably made by the famous Schowanek company, an early 20th century manufacturer of wooden toys and goods established by Johann Schowanek in the town of Desná in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The town is now located in the Czech Republic and the company is now based in Germany. A beautiful original buckle in excellent condition.
