(6) antique Czech hand made millefiori glass and green enamel over metal cabochon jewels. These are highly elaborate, starting with a metal base into which is set millefiori cane and enamel and heated to fuse all the components together. Stunning art glass of museum quality.
The making of these cabochons was very labor intensive, so these stones were used in either precious metal or in very fashionable costume jewelry settings in the vintage jewelry era. The stones were exported to other countries such as Germany and England where they were used to make fine gold and silver jewelry.
