Lot (5) Vintage Deco Czech clear faceted rosarian glass button elements. The glass was hand molded and hand faceted and then would be set with a loop shank and finished with a crystal rhinestone or bead. These are in reclaimed condition and have engrained iridescence from storage.
Origin: Czech circa 1900's
Size: 23/28mm; 14/16" - 1.15"
Material: Glass
Rosarian: a term adopted for glass buttons with a hole through the centre like a bead. The shanks were usually made of brass wire, which was run through the hole, both ends being fastened to the knob on top. Most were finished with a loose metal ring around the shank. (Luscomb: Encyclopedia of Buttons).
