Vintage Czech topaz bicolor glass vase with controlled bubbles by Milan Metelak for Harrachov. A stunning, unique art glass vase made in hand blown glass with a topaz core and cased in crystal. With hundreds of controlled air bubbles in the glass, a technique that requires incredible skill. In beautiful condition with the original Harrachov glass label. Signs of wear to the base only

Metelek was a well-known glass artist and talented painter, the older son of Alois Metelak, who was the fouder of the glass-school in Zelezny Brod. Because of a strong family tradition Milan Metelak attended this glass school from 1943 to 1947, then from 1947 to 1952 continued at the university VSUP in Prague under professor Stipka. Milan Metelák became the company designer of Harrachov glass in 1955 and he set the course of the Nový Svět glassworks' production for many years to follow.
