This is a stunning piece of studio art glass made by the world renowned glass artist, Miloslav Janků.

13 inches x 6.25 inches

Janků was born in Czechoslovakia in 1916 and studied at the State School of Glass and Trade in Železný Brod and continued his studies at the State School of Applied Arts in Prague.
Between 1941 and 1947, Miloslav Janků was the co-founder of a group of artists called Creation.
Božetěch Medek (1909 - 2005), Oldřich Vodseďálek (1910 - 1982) and Josef Němec (1922 - 2000) belonged to this association. As well as a glass artist, he was an accomplished painter, both on glass and canvas.
In 1956 he was employed by Železnobrodské sklo, where he designed painted glass with floral and abstract motifs and from 1963 he designed blown and dense shaped figures and sculptures.
Retiring in 1976, he died in 1994. His creations are sought after the world over. Janků did not sign his pieces and many have had etched signatures added later or are reproductions.
