Ultra rare antique vintage Czech saphiret cased cut to clear glass vase. This is an incredibly rare piece of art glass, fresh to the market and the only one in the world as far as we know. With a crystal clear body cased in a thick layer of saphiret glass with oval indentations. As can be seen from the images, this has the true mocha color of antique saphiret glass but the color changes to a beautiful pink in direct light. In excellent condition for the age with just one chip to an oval indent as can be seen in one of the images. 
This is not signed but is undoubtedly a museum quality piece of designer studio art glass.

Saphiret is an early glass used in jewelry making and was made during the late 1800s to mid 1900s. It was made in various countries, including Czechoslovakia and Germany during the mid 19th century. The glass was made by adding real gold to sapphire colored molten glass. This created an amazing color combination. The base color ranged from a mocha or pinkish brown to a brick red color, but the amazing part is when light strikes, the glass reflects the light in a range of hues.
