Antique Victorian double sided embossed greetings card pressing plate. This is a rare metal plate in remarkably good condition. Made possibly of steel with a galvanized coating, it has been intricately hand engraved on both sides with a range of patterns. The plate would be used to press the embossed sections commonly found on the ornate greetings, Easter, wedding and Christmas cards found in the Victorian era. The designs are in stunning detail. Images 1 to 7 show one side and 8 to 14 show the reverse side. 

Weighing 1.25 kilos or 2.75 lbs and measuring 13 inches by 9.75 inches and 2.2mm thick. 

This would be a wonderful addition to any private collection or museum.
