Sample card (40) vintage Czech glass buttons green yellow Joseph Riedel Polaun 1935

Vintage original card of 40 glass buttons. The card shows the different yellow and green colors available in the design. With glass colors in German and marked Ges. Gesch 68614, short for "Gesetzlich Geschutzt" which is the equivalent of a German trademark after 1899. The card measures 9.75" x 7.5". Fourteen buttons are missing. Four buttons are uranium glass.

This card is from the Joseph Riedel company of Polaun, Czechoslovakia. Joseph Riedel was a Czech-born Austrian glassmaker and was the 7th-generation owner of Riedel Crystal, now more famous for fine wine glasses. The card is from a larger button sample book and would have fitted into the wooden spine with the metal slide on the edge. The last 2 images show (for display purposes only) the original book and wooden spine. This card is a stand alone collectable or can be used as a replacement page if you have the original incomplete book.
